The Sky, the Earth and You

The sculpture consists of three nested circular mirror parts with different spatial orientations. One side of each is flat, whilst the other side the surface is folded in a triangular shard like pattern. The flat side reflects the world as we see it in our everyday life and the folded side shows us a multiperspective representation of us and our surroundings.

The innermost surfce mainly focuses with its flat side on what is above (the sky) the middle one leads the unfragmented view towards the grass and the flowers on the ground (the earth) and simultanously splits the sky into something almost unreal. The largest ring reflects the viewer, and this reflection appears in a place inbetween sky and earth. It is again rather clear on one side and shows us the complexity of the construction of "truth" on the fragmented side.

In addition, three Modified Social Benches, entitled Sky Benches, were distributed on the wooden terrasses, which encourage conversation while sitting and looking out over Aarhus.
