Bear Your Consequences

In the otherwise empty exhibition space, the visitor notices a small gas flame in the centre of a huge round mirror with a fragmented surface.

When moving in for closer inspection, the visitor's presence activates a sensor causing the flame to grow bigger and more aggressive. The encounter with the work both seduces and repels: the warmer and brighter the flame grows, the closes the visitor wants to get to it, and the more his/her physical presence in the space becomes unbearable. The fragmented mirror increases this experience by reflecting both the flame and the viewer.
